Snakes. An animated film based on a woodcut by M.C. Escher. Slow to load, beautiful to watch (and listen to).

slow is right. I've been downloading the movie for 2 hours now at least, and it is barely half way through, but I'm sticking with it till it's done. it's beautifully done. posted by demannu at 4:14 PM on January 28, 2004
Great Caesar's tunic! You weren't kidding -- we're at 20min on my cable modem and still about 1/3 of the way from full download.
Time to go get dinner. Maybe it'll be done when I get back. posted by gleuschk at 4:22 PM on January 28, 2004
crap, it didn't take nearly that long for me. It was about 10-15 minutes for the whole thing, but I'm on the LAN. posted by jonah at 4:34 PM on January 28, 2004
From what I've seen so far, this deserves a few mirror sites. posted by uosuaq at 5:01 PM on January 28, 2004
It took about 2 hours to load, and I'm on a rather fast DSL connection. I love the film - it's graceful in the same way that badger badger (mushroom) is not. Thanks Jonah. posted by Happydaz at 6:27 PM on January 28, 2004
It is spectacular. I only wish it had been as long as the download was. posted by gleuschk at 6:46 PM on January 28, 2004
now made even slower after being posted on metafilter!!! posted by daHIFI at 6:48 PM on January 28, 2004

It's cool, but not THAT cool. Would have made a nice demo reel for the Video Toaster version of Lightwave 3D back in 1992 or so. posted by kindall at 9:21 PM on January 28, 2004
What happened? Every four years, a new generation of political dupes are conned by a new pseudo-outsider. posted by ParisParamus at 9:22 PM on January 28, 2004

Well, kindall may be right. It may not be all that great, but at least it doesn't take 2+ hours to download anymore. posted by crunchland at 10:13 PM on January 28, 2004
