vr tour [note: flash]

VR != still panoramic photo with movable viewing window.

Yeah, that was kind of disappointing, crunchland. This technology was exciting five or six years ago, but come on, let's go somewhere. There's a demo of hotel tours that at least has more of a VR-type interface where you can go from room-to-room, but even that's kind of clunky. Maybe our standards are too high. But I'd love to "tour" the Pyramids in more than vector.

On the other hand, the Flash interface is nice. I enjoyed the scrolling.

Five passengers set sail that day for a VR tour! (A VR tour...)

It's not like I named the site myself... "vr tour" was the site owner's description, not mine. But the level of jaded, ho-hum-ism around here can be downright discouraging sometimes.

What kind of fantasy world do you live in? I said it was "flash," not some sort of matrix-style red pill or anything. You should know that flash can only do so much.

At last, they have the technology to give me motion sickness while sitting at my desk.

The site has an interesting mix of pano+flash+travel-photo and is worthy of note.

I liked it crunchland. Very attractive interface. Nice photography as well, hope they add more.

stbalbach - by 'VR', i think he means a panoramic photo with a bit of distortion to give the effect of perspective. Or maybe he was just trolling...

Anyway like this (if you've got quicktime installed):

Better than the flash version but still sucky.

See, here's the problem. If I'd only read that first, I wouldn't have had such high expectations.

Or if only I hadn't seen any of crunchland's previous Flash posts...
