Okay. I'll be the obnoxious one to raise more a serious concern. I find it disturbing how casually artists (whether in movies or Flash art as shown here) present and we consume the depiction of sexual violence against women. Depressing? How about offensive.

If you watched the linked movie and felt the need to make the above comment in reference to it, then I respectfully suggest that perhaps you missed the point.

biscotti: I got the point. Perhaps you didn't get my point. The animation is great. The story is clever. The music is tolerable -- It's all well and good. The image of a broken old man enthusiastically harassing, knocking unconscious and then raping a woman while his friend in a wheelchair masturbates to orgasm is offensive. Even on a more intellectual level, this animation is objectionable. If you are a child resulting from rape, you'll end up raping someone else? Or does the Nietzsche-esque work-sleep cycle in the animation place the blame on our society and its obsession with success? What then? Society made him rape her? Should we sigh and say "Oh, what an interesting story about human nature... and check out the cinematic vector animation!" Does something being clever make it automatically intelligent? Redeeming? Above reproach? I don't understand how anyone could look at that animation and not be at least a little bit offended by the imagery.

It's supposed to be offensive, that's what it's about. It's about the fact that things like abuse and violence and disconnect and dehumanization are cyclical, and inter-related. Ignoring the message and concentrating only on the imagery misses the point entirely, since the very off-handed offensiveness of the imagery is a large part of the message. It's talking about exactly the same sort of thing that you're objecting to - it's on your side. (In my opinion, of course.)
