Case mod, matrimony style; a geek's marriage proposal [with pics]

I think that is actually really cool! I loved the detail on the computer! *ducking away from tomatoes hurled at me because I'm a geek*

I was expecting that to be awful. Instead, it was sheer brilliance.

Idiot. Flowers and lace make computers run slower. To go faster, you need racing stripes and spoilers.

Yes, but yours will be parked in the garage, while theirs makes it to the honeymoon suite and the bedroom.

In Soviet Russia, case mods YOU!

Also, the broken goatse.cx link on that server-ricing page made me cry all over again.

That's incredibly cute and funny. And romantic, romance being the result of genuine forethought and effort to please someone.

I give props to anyone who does creative stuff with their PCs. Sure, it's tacky, but it's kinda endearing at the same time.

I know I've taken modding for granted when I read this thread and am genuinely surprised by people calling this tacky. The man had a worthwhile goal and expressed it in a competant, aesthetically consistent and attractive way (for a computer case, anyways). Where do people see the tackiness?

Or maybe I just have no taste. It would explain why I get stares whenever I wear my favorite polka-dots-and-pinstripes outfit.

I think it's really sweet. Impractical, but very, very sweet.

Damn, and I thought I was the ultimate geek for proposing to my husband by quoting Babylon 5...
