the baghdad and venice ones actually do look like the eastenders beginning image, if you crop it right. (The black smoke is our bombs?) and Hey, there's my building...see it? right over there...to the left a little and down--that one!

I don't know what it is about these sorts of images, but they always give me enourmous vertigo, like I'm falling headfirst (because I feel "upside down" does that make any sense?). Very, very nice find, beautiful!

I believe that the black smoke over Baghdad is the oil they burned to cover up the city in an attempt to make bombs miss.

Good thing there's a golf course next door to the Pyramids... What a surreal experience that must be. I've often wondered what would become of a site like the Pyramids or the Great Wall if they resided in North America. I assume we would have people dressed up in pharaoh outfits pretending to live there ala Williamsburg, or maybe just put a rollercoaster along one side of it. Also how it goes from empty desert to dense development in such a (relatively) small space is intriguing. I've never seen a top-down picture of Singapore before. Not at all what I would have imagined. I am also certain I would become hopelessly lost in Venice in under an hour. I would simply have to take up residence. Which might not be so bad.
