History Today made me laugh. Why had I never heard of Newman and Baddiel before? (I suppose because I'm American and my English friend hadn't sent me that link until today.) Don't read the transcripts, watch the videos.

I apologize in advance to anyone in the UK for whom this post is the equivalent of someone saying, "Hey, have you heard of this Sienfeld guy? He's funny! posted by boredomjockey at 9:38 PM on February 19, 2004
And also to those who care about the spelling of "Seinfeld". posted by boredomjockey at 9:43 PM on February 19, 2004
Mother of God this is hilarious. Hope it doesn't get old. Could see it getting old. posted by Hildago at 11:41 PM on February 19, 2004
I remember seeing and enjoying Newman and Baddiel when I lived in England back in the early 90s (when they were doing Newman and Baddiel In Pieces). Sadly, they went their separate ways shortly thereafter. posted by filmgoerjuan at 12:01 AM on February 20, 2004

I think it probably does get old fairly quickly if you're watching one after another. You have to remember though that we had to wait a week between each short sketch when they were on tv over here. Believe me, it's even funnier if you understand how bad it'd be to lose to John Inman in a fight, or have a mum that looks like Geoff Capes. posted by squealy at 2:10 AM on February 20, 2004
