Amazing photos from the ordinary normal life in Iran by an Iranian-Norweigian who is paying a visit to his family.
This one doesn't have really anything to do with Iran, but I thought it was a cool pic.

I've often wondered about photography in Islam. A lot of the wonderful interior calligraphy and decoration of ancient mosques is that way because the Koran forbids making representations of the human form. So how come in theocratic islamic nations like Iran we see so many photographs?

Pericles, all Islamic countries are not the same. The whole anti-image thing comes from the Palestine/Arabia region (for whatever reason), and the farther away from there you get the less popular it is. Iran was never into it, and Persian art is full of representations of humans, animals, &c. (Ever seen a Persian miniature?)

Great link as usual, hoder. This made me hungry.

Thanks, hoder. These are great! Touching, beautiful, interesting. The food made me hungry, so we're having carry-out gheimeh bademjan and gormeh sabzi for lunch.
