Too many balls, and it's not that fun to begin with.

I 'glitched out' the game. My last two balls (red & blue) swapped sides at the same time and even with the count at zero for both sides the counter continued to run.

No matter what I do I just can't win... (sigh)

Is that was the popups were? [Runs popup blocker and up-to-date AV software]

188... but only because I didn't realize you not only had to separate them, but separate them the way the game wanted. Done correctly, 70.

D'oh - I didn't notice the counters at the bottom. I sorted them to the wrong sides, and once I realised I couldn't be bothered swapping them all over.

I was worse than all y'all. I forgot mid game which way I initially intended to sort them.

After playing this game for a while, I can't seem to use my browser's scrollbar properly. I keep looking for imaginary dots. Ack...

24, baby!

it helps to ignore one color and concentrate on the other, at first

Yeah!! This is pretty awesome.

It's based on the thought experiment known as Maxwell's Demon, which might be vaguely familiar to anyone who has studied thermodynamics... The world surely needs more web games based on thought experiments.

Best time: 43. Sigh.

Yeh, I only realised the link to thermodynamics after I posted. Still haven't beaten the damn thing though...

That's a pretty nasty little script that opens up. You know when the friggin' Javascript code uses terms like "Malware" and "Parasite" that you're in trouble.

Doing a little research, it looks like the popup attempts to check if PUP.EXE has been installed on your system, if not, it tries to install it. This is apparently spyware from the Tmax Corporation -- an advertising business in England. It also checks to see if the Google Toolbar is loaded, so it may attempt to circumvent it.

Anyway, this thread should be deleted just as a public service to those Mefites who aren't properly protected (I know, I know).

Sorry to anyone who now has virus troubles...using Mozilla here and didn't get anything. I agree, delete the post.

I got it in 63 - but that included getting all of the balls separated, but on the wrong sides, first, then getting them all separated again, but this time on the correct sides.
