A new strategy in the war against piracy? Allegedly, Sega offered these DreamCast ISO distributors stock options in exchange for ceasing their piracy operations. They reportedly have taken the offer, dropped their DreamCast ripping and moved on to PSX bootlegs. [via SlashDot]

If this is true, that's a pretty wacky new twist on corporations fighting the little guys. Somehow, I doubt Metallica will follow in suite.

Seems pretty unlikely, given that it would only encourage more piracy. Besides, according to scensters I've talked to, it's really just a ruse to cover a group change up and new name...but why believe my rumor any more than the original rumor?
