Whoah. I accidentally typed our favorite blog's URL minus a period, and stumbled upon this educational reference site. Those devious hippies have gone too far....

Operated out of Grand Turk, Grand Turk Island? Huh, I've never even heard of that place. Off to Google!

ARE YOU WILLING TO BET YOUR MUSHROOM RESEARCH on the cheapest spores you can get?

MetaFilter: Betting your mushroom research on better spores.

So glad to know that good organic chemical amusement is only a typo away.

Or: Never has missing a period been so fun!

(Was that too much? Oh, alright then.)

Soundofsuburbia: It's a British colony in the Caribbean. I quote:

The Turks and Caicos economy is based on tourism, fishing, and offshore financial services.

So it looks like it's not unlike, say, the Cayman Islands.

How do you make Metafilter and mushrooms perk right up?

Keep 'em in the dark, and feed 'em shit, of course

Sorry all, I just had to.

I really think this post was in spore taste. But I guess adamms222 is just trying to be a fun guy.

Think prior to this, the site was a fortune teller. Or some other form site similar to "meta-filter".

NSFW for some of us, adamms222!

Not me, for the record.

NSFW? Only if you mis-read it as "SpermBank".

So...anyone had good experiences with their online ordering system? Enquiring minds need to know.

So they've had it for a year, and this is likely the first time anyone has stumbled across this URL. That doesn't sound like an effective marketing strategy.

I think the insinuation is that the primary purpose of those who buy mushrooms is for psychidelic use, and the majority of Metafilter posters and readers are stinky, drug-using liberal hippies. Or something like that.

Not quite, moonbiter. Both 'shrooms and MeFi will expand your consciousness, making you see the world in strange, beautiful, wondrous ways. You will meet people you have never met, and fall in love with them as they hover in midair, just out of reach. Aliens will speak to you in crazy languages and you will understand and relate to everything they say. The universe will shimmer on the edges of your mind, and as you float downstream, you will realize that this is, yes, the best of all worlds, and you are its reigning deity and humble custodian, all at once.

Just remember to drink lots of water, though. The comedown can be a bitch.

Both will also occasionally make you want to run off a cliff and throw yourself into the sun.

Aw, jon, tomato, tomahto.

You know, I love you. All of you. All 17,000 of you beautiful, sweet, filthy, foulmouthed, meanspirited, bitter, jaded SOBs (and DOBs, oh yeah, love them DOBs best of all, man).

Now if you'll excuse me, brothers and sisters, I'm gonna go make a sandwich and listen to Lamonte Young real loud in the dark for a couple of hours.

as an IE user, i tend to just type metafilter ctrl+enter.

i'd never have seen this otherwise, thanks adamms222. you've made my life complete.
