Creative Commons: now for movies.

He certainly has an interesting approach to filmmaking. Very fresh! It will be fun to see what happens as footage is released and people start digging into it.

That being said, there's no way I'd ever be able to "let go" of a project enough to be able to release my footage under a Creative Commons license. Too much effort goes into capturing a "moment" -- and I'd be resentful of people screwing up my work, even though some good stuff would be bound to come from it amongst the bad.

Now off to read the Honey script. Great post!

Although I love the idea, I wasn't able to find a link to any video of any sort on the linked site. Little help?

squirrel, from this post:

We'll be putting up the movie soon, then releasing footage by scene every month or so so people can play with it.

So it looks like they haven't gotten to that point yet. (The site just went live a few days ago.)

Thanks, Vidiot. I'll keep an eye on the site. I think the idea is the future of Clip-Hop<super>*</super>.

Doesn't releasing footage "by scene" kind of defeat the purpose? What if some of the..."collaborators"...want to intercut with material from the first scene, the last scene, and thirty seconds in the middle? Sure, you can do it, eventually, after you've been given material in units that have meaning only in terms of the original conception of the film.
