Martian Sea

Old Mars and the Sea. A salty sea may once have covered the Opportunity rover's landing site on Mars, boosting the possibility that the planet may once have evolved life. (Of course, there are those who believe NASA has been conspiring to cover it all up, but the Bad Astronomer has words on that. Bunnies and faces, my foot.)

I love those conspiracy theorists.

It all makes sense! NASA destroyed the fossil because the last thing they would want is the flood of funding, support, and excitement that would come from finding proof of life on Mars.

Wow this is huge news. It makes the chances of finding life (or previous life) a lot greater.

something about space.com always seems a bit off -- almost as if it could be so much better.
