In a reworking of a classic story, City Councillors in Orange County were about to debate the pressing issue of Dihydrogen Monoxide before realising that the dangerous chemical was, in fact, water.

I thought it was a great thread, especially for Dreamghost's post of that altered "Free Quonsar!" picture which had a youngish Richard Nixon doing a photo-op on the Capital Building steps. Tricky Dick was shaking hands (or claws? talons?) with a live turkey. It was charming.

But, everyone ran away from the thread when I started preaching about how nursing mothers flush, in their breast milk, PCB's, PAH's, and Dioxin into their infants. Or maybe it was that "parable of the no-good Quonsar"?
