I suppose that I am sickened by your obsession with posters, posting and posts. Or something. Cultural cringe or warm glow of nostalgia? With the White Australia policy running allongside these posters it is unlikely that you'll find an coorie face amongst these posters. Also, note the lack of dot-painting, the style that has become synonymous with Australia. (At least there is no Ken Done)

Just in case anyone gets over excited, the small text above was an example of a kind of sarcastic in-joke. Not that I want to sustain that particular meme, but when I saw a virgin hama7 thread I couldn't resist. Sorry.

My spelling and grammar are appalling today. Those the only choices? - Seems to be the case if you stay within the mainstream Aussie media framing of any debate pertaining to 'Australianess'. YMMV

Cultural cringe or warm glow of nostalgia? I don't think it has to be either - the tourism industry is usually pretty good at following trends and these posters simply reflect the times. I am pretty sure that, if you look at similar posters from any country that has a predominantly "white" history following the "invasion" of their country, you will see similar themes. The posters are kind of cute, IMHO.
