Hmmf. The giant plastic Eagle from Space: 1999 has gotta be in any list of coolest toys ever. I'd swear that thing must have been pushing a yard long.

That and these little rubbery-foam airplanes -- ISTR that they were called Flying Aces -- that flew. They looked really good, and were shaped more-or-less like real planes (ie, not made up of flat surfaces like a balsa plane). You could launch them with a little slingshot, or from playsets. I lost more than one of these things onto the roof of the 4-story apartment buildings we lived in at Ramstein.

Most of my favorite childhood toys are at The Mego Museum.

Thanks soundofsurburbia. Sam and I must be about the same age. I grew up with most of these toys too. Just recently, my sister and I were trying to remember the name of a game we had spent hours trying to master, Remco's Frustration Ball.

This rocks!

I wanted one of those Pepsi dispensers...I'd almost forgotten about them.

And how cute is that Arnold Palmer Indoor Golf Course?

Not in this collection, but I own one of the original "ALIEN" toys. Very cool!
