Ironic isn't it. Other people's vacation photos are so much more interesting when you DON'T know them. I love this site.

A map showing where the picture was taken should be standard metadata on all modern digital cameras (ie. built-in GPS). It would make travel photography so much more interesting to zoom into the location of the photo.
