Hmm, the homepage crashes Safari (but not IE), but the rest of the site seems fine. The first page is Japan.

some good ones, but many are very stock-ish, and travel brochure-ish.

The most interesting thing about this site.. well about most sites really.. is the person behind the work. He seems to have found a way to make a living filling a niche in the "travel photography" realm. His clients are magazines and other cliche type publishers that need that generic stock look but that is current and fresh.

One could say how many pictures of Geishas does the world need. But how many pictures of Geishas made in the past 6 months are there? He seems to survive on being current and fresh and that is heartwarming to know a market will always exist no matter how many times it has been photographed.

Some really nice pictures here, but the very high quality of the best ones make the inclusion of the more ordinary ones seem unnecessary and a bit jarring. Like many of us, perhaps he can't always self-edit as well as he might, or he lets the other values a picture may have get in the way of his assessment of it from a purely photographic/art point of view.
