Perhaps I saw too many Vietnam movies, but I didn't think warfare looked like this. Seems nearly like some hip 20something vibe akin to BM or MTV Spring Break or something. Except, like, with sepsis {PDF}.

Nah...this is what the medical corps is made out of. It takes some vibrant, young, motivated people to decide who lives or dies on a daily basis.

Admittedly, I saw some young captains and majors, but thank God for nurses...doctors are usually stressed out assholes. Nurses do the brunt of the work in the military, just like in real life.

And of course, there were plenty of enlisted EMTs and guards, etc., in these photos, but considering it's from a Nurse Practitioner's site, I assumed that some of them were commissioned medical personnel.

Nurse Practitioners (and Physician Assistants) are awesome -- they have provided my family with top-notch medical care. Physicians rightly deserve their place at the top of the healthcare "food chain," but NP and PAs are incredible assets.

(And military NPs & PAs are even better!)

Thanks for the link, Ogre.

I echo the appreciation of nurses. They are saints.
