Years ago, Neil Strauss had an article in the NYT about the wax figures. His description and the picture make me wonder if these ebay pictures are current. Also, last time I was in Nashville, I tried to get into the building where these figures were stored, but all the doors were locked. I wish I knew how to pick locks.

According to a local newspaper article, if the seller doesn't get what he wants for the whole set, he's selling them off individually. That opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Also, I was there just a few months ago, and all of those pictures are current. The lighting is really poor in the museum itself, so the flash photos bring out some details that might not be evident otherwise.

Ooops, the article that I posted above (NYT article) is about a different wax museum of country music stars who are still in storage and not on the auction block. I want the Jimmie Rodgers wax figure!

Wow, that's a great piece. All that stuff is gone now, I'm sure. There's a huge mixed-use commercial/residential development going up where the car museum used to be. It's funny . . . on the north side of the road (Demonbreun, aka Music Row) there're all sorts of sports bars and and upscale pizza joints catering to the music business types and Belmont University crowd, on the south side of the street, it's just parking lots and empty buildings (an old Shoneys, an empty gift shop, the original location of the Hall of Fame.) It throws the transition of that side of town into sharp contrast.
