Look a little further up on the list, cbrody, and ask if Howard Shore is. Blah. Still, it's not a bad list if you're getting into classical music.

cbrody, You are looking at the top 300 works list. All the "great" composers have their expected place in the top composers list. Isn't it elitist to suggest that a work by Bach must be better than a work by Jenkins? This list is definitely slanted towards easy-listening, though.

A better list might be the Basic Repertoire found at classical.net.
