Any idea if this obsession with test patterns/logos/DOGs crossed the pond and has any American followers? Cause I've always been interested in these kind of websites, and I'd love to see one for American TV. Of course, the infomercial killed the test pattern long ago.

Yeah, I wish there were as many rabid TV arcana collectors in the US. I've run across a few interesting things, like the Closing Logo cult and That 70s UHF TV Guy. And, of course, the TV News Themes Based on "Cool Hand Luke" page.

Okay, maybe there are as many rabid TV arcana collectors in the US. But none of them have recreated their favorite logos in Flash.

I've followed this scene off and on for a few years now, and it strangely seems to be limited largely to the UK (and Europe, to a lesser extent). The only discussion about US TV presentation seems to be by a mostly British following -- and it's nothing compared to the UK coverage.

Though if there is some secret hideout for those US presentation folks, let me know...

The only networks I can think of that really put thought into idents were MTV and HBO (remember the Feature Presentation where they fly over a city into a huge HBO logo!). I remember other pay-movie networks having Feature Presentation logos also.

There are actually a fair number of US TV trainspotters on TeamFX2000's links page.
