By beautiful you mean something remarkably not, yes?

i liked that the link to this over at anil calls it "the galactic prophylactic". harsh, but funny.
that being said, the guy did a pretty good job, and his geekiness is awesome. i KNOW i don't have the chutzpah to send a link of pictures of myself in pale chartreuse spandex to slashdot .

Dear sweet Lord, a cameltoe in front, and an even more disturbing, but oddly identical, cameltoe in back. I couldn't think of a more fitting tribute to Tron.

Oh, and it's gotta be said: no one needs to see some dude's package wrapped in spandex.

Dear Lord, where's the MCP when you need him?

Wow, the years have not been kind to TRON.

thanks. it's these kind of links that make me feel better about myself...

I think this guy needs to think less about tron and think more about being able to seepast his belly to his penis again one day.
posted by trbrts at 12:55 PM on April 20, 2004

The sad thing is, he *is* sucking it in already.

I wouldn't normally make a comment like that, but when you put yourself on the web in an off-green skin suit, you open the doors of ridicule for all to enter.

For want of a jockstrap, the hearts and minds of Tron fans everywhere were lost...
posted by ursus_comiter at 1:06 PM on April 20, 2004

Which makes me think he is either something of an exhibitionist, or he's a geek so far gone that he's oblivious to the fact that he's showing off his tightly wrapped junk to the entire world.

I'm going to refrain from making the obvious, obvious comments and instead say that something about the Tron costume doesn't quite work without the chest armor. An outfit with only arm and leg coverings and a helmet just looks way too low-rent. The el-wire was pretty cool, though.

I think he recognizes that the spandez isn't particularly flattering - he even mentions something to this extent in the text. He did some nice work and ultimately won his contest.

Everyone has a hobby that is ludicrous to somebody else.

Spandex, I mean.

Its not Milton... its the guy that gets hit by the truck.

Work like you don't need money, love like you've never
been hurt, and wear spandex like no one's watching.

Good for him.

...the horror.... the horror...

But, for equal enjoyment, check out a guy I used to see at San Diego Comic Con: fourth one down.

Optimus was a sweaty, sweaty man.

Whatever, man. That guy rocks. A dork for sure, but good on him all the same.
posted by Samsonov14 at 10:34 PM on April 20, 2004

That's what I'm saying, Samsonov. The dude rocks in my universe of dorkage.
posted by Joey Michaels at 12:49 AM on April 21, 2004

What Samsonov14 said! I sent the poor bastard a congratulatory email.

Look out for:

** The rear shot 6th picture down. Eeeeeeeww.

** The Dr Smith-esque (Lost in Space) line, "and, finally, in the full glory of things..."

** His self depreciating humour, "I wasn't Tron, but a simple payroll withholding calculation program that had gotten overweight by changes in the laws."

** The proud look on his face in a lot of his shots.

geeky! And cut his weight some slack, he is a payroll withholding calculation program after all.

Good for him!

If any of you decide to follow his example, a dance belt will keep your dangly bits all neat and tidy as long as you follow the detailed instructions.
