quite a large quicktime, on a lumbering, barely head-above-water server. i'm on a hot shit cable link, going on 4 minutes now with no movie yet. content review pending :-) posted by quonsar at 8:55 AM on April 22, 2004

Would that have seemed nearly as elegant if set to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody...or Welcome to the Jungle? posted by quasistoic at 9:03 AM on April 22, 2004
very nice, only 5 megs actually, but good luck viewing it. 14 minutes to cough it up here. posted by quonsar at 9:06 AM on April 22, 2004
Kind of a cool combination of Yugop's Blackribbon piece and something by John Maeda. Very nice. Considering the domain though, I would have thought the letters would look like this. posted by gwint at 9:08 AM on April 22, 2004
Well, the server crapped out before I could download it all... I only got up to "N". Someone please tell me how it ends. posted by funkbrain at 9:32 AM on April 22, 2004
Though this link is far less elegant. posted by Robot Johnny at 10:17 AM on April 22, 2004
Thanks for the mirror, Matt.
For some reason this video reminded me of that guy who drew a presentation with sand... though for the life of me I can't find the link. posted by dobbs at 11:18 AM on April 22, 2004
Lovely. I'll forward this to the aficionados at Typophile. posted by Down10 at 11:54 AM on April 22, 2004
Bitdamaged link is well worth it, the letter animation is clearly not.
I was hoping that "as I've never seen ir" would involve some sort of brilliant conceptuatlization or, at the very least, naked women. posted by Ogre Lawless at 12:38 PM on April 22, 2004
There was an amazing font-based illustration that came out a few years ago that I can't track down. It was like a flyover simulation of Manhattan, but everything was done in type (thousands of huge skyscrapers were built with the letters "BUILDING").
Ring any bells? It was freaking amazing. I think it was a part of a subscription art DVD thing. posted by mathowie at 2:12 PM on April 22, 2004

Add in children screaming out the names of each letter, and this reminds me of many many hours of Sesame Street. posted by jozxyqk at 2:48 PM on April 22, 2004
