Remember the woman arrested for allowing her kids to be sunburned at a county fair? What's she doing now? Sadly one of her children has died and it has been ruled a homicide.

I dont think it sounds intentional. The kid was ill and didnt get medical treatment. It appeared to have been choked. Its not like she stabbed it. She didnt do it in cold blood. She probably tried to silence it because it was crying from being as sick as it was and just went too far. She isnt a criminal she is just too dumb to take care of children. Hlewagast, i am glad that you are enjoying news 9. you might also want to check out the cross burning in the black man's yard story. This valley, my home of 21 years is something else.

thanks to this incredibly stupid woman, i'm accumulating yet more evidence for my theory that people should be put on mandatory birth control at puberty and have to pass some sort of basic skills test before they are allowed to use their reproductive systems. at the very least, there ought to be some test you must pass before you're allowed to raise a kid, unsupervised. "lamans" terms. the new store sells "cloths". holy crap is this really bad editing, or is this just written so that the newscaster won't mispronounce the words on camera? on checking further looks like bad editing. if you follow the directions they give for setting their site as your homepage, in netscape (version 3 or 4!) or IE 4/5 you'll end up with "www." as your home page. so somebody just isn't very good with the editing skills here i think. or web skills for that matter.

ahem - amend that last comment to say "before they're allowed to use their reproductive systems for non-recreational purposes." and i know this smacks of eugenics, which as a theory disgusts me. but we all can probably name one or two people who shouldn't ever have been allowed to be near a child, let alone raise one.

I was born in Steubenville, raised in nearby Toronto (no, not that one, Toronto Ohio) and grew up with Sheriff Fred's kids. While he may be a bit of a glory-hound he is also one of the only voices of reason in the Upper Ohio Valley. He steps into a lot of crap that other people have brushed aside (the Valley is the epicenter of 'bury it deep and hope nobody finds it' politics). Hlewagast, that mall is on its last gasp except for one very prosperous anchor store, wanna guess who it is? Hint, begins with Wal and ends with an abbreviation for market.

This case is actually a kind of parallel to the 9-11 commission now holding hearings in Washington. You ask the same questions: The signs were all there, how come nobody did anything? Could anything have been done to prevent the catastrophe? The answer to both questions in both cases: No.
