This site has a real cool slide show of a bunch of graffitied Rudy Guiliani tv movie posters in NYC subway stations (under 'Other'). Some other good stuff by this artist to check out, too (Flash required).

That navigation requires a video gamer's quick reflexes, which I unfortunately do not possess. The resulting random look at the graffiti left me underwhelmed. What am I missing

I'm failing to understand what is real cool about photos of a TV movie poster that some one has written "SUCKS FAT COCK" on...

Maybe "BLOOD FOR OIL" written in chick-scratch on WTC Tower #1 & #2 with American Airlines Flight 11 doodled on final approach has a subtly that I failed to grasp.

Looks to me like some vandels defaced some posters, and this took some photos of it.... Or is there more that I am missing?

If there was less packaging, maybe we could appreciate the art.

Tell me again: what has ever been wrong with a list of thumbnails you can click on to view a bigger picture and a couple of arrows to navigate in sequence?

The thumbnail shape and attachment of a caption to it is OK and would be enjoyed more if every time you click on something it didn't feels like you turned an old TV dial.

Yeah I know, I'm commenting on the appearance, but it seems that it intentionally is the prevailing thing here...

(I promise I won't complain about vain art packaging in the future, but I wanted to get that off my chest.)

Steve, the artist who took the pictures is not the one who wrote on the posters. The NYC public were the "vandels" (evident in the ones where various people are addressing each other and namecalling). I find the pictures very interesting and it all makes me think about sociological issues, amongst other things. And you don't dig them. That is the one of the great things about art - different strokes for different folks.

On a similar note, there is a great Britney Spears Poster Defacement site that I think was posted to the blue some time before [I can't find it though].

This artist hangs out in the wrong neighborhoods... the posters of this movie where I live had much fewer general crass and much more smart witticisms... too bad I don't carry a camera with me.

That site is an interesting find, Miyagi (particularly that Breakfast Club scene snippet). Shame about the navigation of the defaced posters. Hell, shame about the navigation of the entire site as it definitely detracts from experiencing her content.

Wow, it's like a MeFi thread that's gone to hell...on a subway wall! Especially the bit where people are caviling about the use of the word "pinko".

And it would really be nice if that site had a better interface, but I also really dislike flash interfaces in general (unless they're TOTALLY AWESOME).

I love nothing more than what smartass New Yorkers do to subway posters. Love it.

Unfortunately, I have never ever in my whole entire life seen any site more difficult to navigate. Ever. Never.

My fingers hurt.
