From teh latest addition to RHF:

I started getting virus emails a few minutes ago with spoofed From lines. No big deal, pick one a few seconds old, read the headers, see whose machine it is, check the company directory, pull out the cell phone... "Hi, did you just open an email that you shouldn't have?" "Oh, um, uh, sorry, yes, I knew that one might be... Um, what do I do?" "Unplug your machine from the network, and take it to IT." "Thanks! Who is this?" <inspiration strikes> "I'm from the Internet, ma'am. Be more careful next time." </inspiration>

I don't think that last one was meant to imply web links; it was in the "Administrator" section.

EB: It was, but it seems to mean "web server administrator" -- in the two sections, user and administrator, the users are readers and the admins are writers (providing information on their websites), or at least that's what I took it to be saying. It is kind of cryptic in places, if you ask me.

Don't point to other sites without asking first. It annoys me when people ask for permission to link to my page, and/or email me to tell me they have done so -- because they usually expect me to link back to them. On the other hand, better that than just copying images that I specifically have copyright notices on and then saying "I found them... somewhere" when called on it.

Don't point to other sites without asking first. well, its an OLD spec... less bandwidth, slower servers, walking thru the snow 15 miles barefoot just to read email, etc...
