Mefite pens book, is better than the rest of us (save Miguel).

Remember dong_resin? Of course you do. He's a lovable rapscallion--an affable sort (I don't actually know him but play along). Well, some months back, Mr. Resin penned (in the virtual sense) a blog entry entitled Tink Hilton : One Dog Screaming, a piece about Paris Hilton told from the perspective of her dog. You may, if you're a fan of "the resin" (as I've never called him), have noticed he hasn't been around Metafilter (or his blog) all that often lately. Apparently, he has an explanation: it seems that someone from Warner Books saw the entry and asked him to write a short novel. The result? A short novel with a long name, The Tinkerbell Hilton Diaries : My Life Tailing Paris Hilton, which goes on sale in September.
disclaimer: I do not know the donger in any way, shape, or form, and my shilling (if it is perceived that way) is born out of unadulterated, likely unreciprocated, and clearly unnatural love (or maybe I just thought it was interesting: you decide).

Clearly, like the fictional Cordelia Chase before him, "d-rez" (as I've also never called him) has ascended to a higher plane, leaving the rest of us plebes behind. Let us only pray that the writers in the sky take care of him, even if he makes some terrible choices with his hairstyles. Amen.

Cool. All props are due to the Resinator (as I've never called him)! That bit about Rumsfeld steamrollering orphans was excellent too. Thanks, TGC.

It was only a matter of time. Dong's always been destined for bigger things and I'm glad they're starting to come his way.

Good on ya, D.R.

Please tell me that was intentional.

*phew* thanks TGC, i so wanted to post about this but would have ended up self linking since i host dong's joint. i hope this book drives paris hilton as insane as all of us faithful dong readers went while he was offline working on this project. and i hope that warner books lets dong skewer a few more useless celeb types... like rush limbaugh, mebbe...?

Dong's always been destined for bigger things

I wish I could tell you that, P.V., but I can't. Let's just call it a serendiptitious slip that Senor Resin himself would appreciate.

If he keeps this parallel up, in two years we get naked pictures! W00t!

the original blog entry was really funny, in a dong_resiny kind of way. the problem is, 144 pages (even in large print) seem a little too much. maybe.
but maybe the whole book will manage to be consistently funny. I certainly hope so.
and anyway congratulations, dong.

Congratulations, dong_resin (hey, now my fingers feel dirty.) There is no need to drag this to the grey. You didn't link it, and the entry posted was funny, it deserves to be linked here.

And this doesn't stop you from buying a textad, either.

"D. Resin." Awesome.

That he'd use his internet nick as a pen name is great and strange. In any case this is rocking good news. Huzzah!

Uh, you did know that is his Christian name, right? It's on the birth certificate.

Bravo, Dongster, I'm just wondering if you're going to be able to cash those royalties checks made out to "D. Resin"...

BTW, you will be required to put the following sticker on every copy of the book...

Congrats!

According to a March episode of NPR's "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me," Hilton has a dog diary proprosal she made to publishers.

Is that this and misattributed or something separate?

Show summary page. List to the "Not My Job" segment. About 7 minutes into it (question number 2).
