I grew up in Nepean, where they filmed the show. A few of the actors attended my highschool (Confederation) but most went to the neighbouring highschool (Bell). Actually, one of the kids, Sid, is doing med school here at Queen's University. And yes, Moose = hot.

Anyone else remember the science show that Christine co-hosted? It was totally cheesy, just her and a Dr. Science type guy behind a table with a infomercial-like studio audience. It was where I found out that stuff would sink in oil and not in water. Freaked me out. Also, getting red-slimed for saying 'freedom' == brilliant.

I actually auditioned for this show at CTV in Ottawa, and met Adam and Moose and some other kid, and Les Lye. I didn't make it, but I learned how to fake-vomit. No I didn't get slimed, thank god...those child-hating monsters!

This show got me spanked. It was after an episode where someone (Moose?) had to rhyme either Shovel or Orange (Not sure which, I think it was Shovel, then Orange for the Slime-back). I argued with my Dad all day that there was a rhyme for both (which explains why I can't remember which one was in the episode, my Dad suggested the other). Needless to say, I did not let the issue drop. For six hours. Had I a time machine, I'd spank me too. I remember saying Shovel went with Hovel, but as for Orange... Well... That's a job for AskMe.

Just watched the "war" episode. That is some VERY nice editing, especially when compared with what was out there at the time (like, the A-Team), and especially for a children's show. And would a kids' show today reference nuclear disarmament treaties, the draft, or allow some one to make a gesture implying that they were stomping on someone's throat and slicing a bayonet through their neck? To Canadians -- this was on CTV, wasn't it?

Add me to the Moose fan club, too! I remember watching it in - 1982/1983, I think, on Nickelodeon. I remember Moose, the locker gags, Barth, the firing squad, slime (which Nick somehow co-opted, dammit), and little else. BTW -- did anybody else enjoy watching "The Tomorrow People" that aired on Nick around the same time? I loved that show. Bought the books, even. Nick, Elizabeth, John, etc. Then Nick tried to re-create it in the early 90s and failed miserably.
