So, you're a typical geeky teenage boy with serious angst and a death wish. How do you commit the fatal deed? Obvious! Groom an older boy by writing 50,000 lines of fantasy, inventing 8 characters, including a female spy offering sex, meet up to buy a blade, and voila! - redefine murder plots for us all.

This is quote an interesting story. Not much coverage was given to the 16-year old who stabbed him. How many 16-year olds do you know who think they're being recruited by MI6 to stab 14-year old nerds who are dying of cancer?

Boy A, a 15-year-old, stabbed Boy B twice, but he did not die, Manchester Crown Court heard. Boy A admitted attempted murder and Boy B has admitted incitement to murder. Boy B also admitted perverting the course of justice. Boy A, who is now 17, was served with a two-year supervision order and is allowed no contact with Boy B. Boy B, who is now 15, received a three-year supervision order and is banned from using the internet. Jesus christ that article reads like one long, hellish SAT question.

compelling? Hmmm. In my county we have 10 year olds trading guns and robbing another at recess. The mayor has no power because the state runs the city and another large city mayor had a heart attack after trying to defend her slumlord behavior at city council. oh did i mention the murder rate the poverty rate the drug abuse rate. yeah, lots of compelling stories out there. Actually, this is interesting in the sense that shows the edges of human behavior and how especially now that the internet is around, particularly "compatible" sets of people can do things never thought possible etc. blah blah, whereas what you've related (in thin detail, granted) is just bad. The extremeness of the occurance or whatnot, by body count etc. doesn't always decide whether it's "news"worthy.
