Show Me Your Motor! "Some guy once said he had an awesome car he imported from Japan. No one believed him so we said "take a picture of a carton of milk, bread, and a sign that says "Initial D World" or "IDW" in your passenger seat". He responded saying "Ok, when I get milk tomorrow". We never heard from him again but it has evolved into doing it on the hood instead." Tradition! Tradition! Car traditions! [Via AlexChat]

Yeah. Okay. Just put the milk down and back away from your car. Everything is going to be just fine.

xmutex: North American bread and milk would be hard to get in Japan, so if the car was imported and in this guy's possession, it wouldn't be hard to take a picture of the car with the bread and milk.

You can fake it (mailing milk carton and bread packaging to Japan, organizing a picture to be taken of the car), but then you're going to a lot more trouble it is worth.

Unless you're confused about why everybody else started taking these pictures?

The "Tradition!" link points to a page that attempts to install all sorts of adware on your computer. Don't click it!

Neat, but why not just take a picture of the car that shows the steering wheel on the opposite side?

...though the thought occurs to me that Japanese imported cars could have world-standard left-side steering wheels.

But that would take the fun out of it all.

I was half expecting that it had evolved to something else entirely.

MJJ, at the risk of oxymoronizing, I believe you've opened the door (so to speak) to a brand spanking new tradition!

Who wants to go first?

(Actual spanking optional.)
