Bear Wanders Into Hospital in Franklin VA

A 350 pound black bear wandered through the automatic doors of Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital. After being trapped in a computer room, law enforcement officers killed the bear. Sadly, as suburbs and towns grow out into the country, more bears are getting the worse of their relationship to humans.

I thought hospitals were supposed to treat everyone. The bear probably wasn't feeling well and was seeking medical attention. Bastards shouldn't have shot him.

Officers planned to sedate the bear, but they were worried what might happen if the bear got loose in the hospital, so as the officer's dick got hard he pulled his revolver and shot it.

Death of a black bear is about as tragic as the death of an alley-cat. There is no shortage of 'em. And a bear that's so familiar with people that it's willing to walk into a building full of 'em is not a bear that need live. not exactly and exactly. a fed bear is a dead bear. bears will sometimes need to be killed, but it will be a lot less if people didn't feed them or leave food available for them.

Food, pot, candy, whatever ... Where I live, one is forced to be intimately aware of the hazards surrounding interaction with wildlife. The longer we maintain the assumption that we are humans, and hence seperate from the environment, the more sensational and tragic stories like this will become. In Missoula, Montana, among the higher priced property districts are Grant Creek and the Rattlesnake. In both places, people have moved in and mandated that there will be no hunting of deer (or any other animal). Please imagine their surprise when the deer began decimating their oh so pretty gardens, and the bears came down to snack in their kitchens. The moral is pretty simple ... if you choose to accept interaction with the animals around you, you'd better be willing to accept that they don't know your rules, and will act like animals will.

mrgrimm: I assume you take exception to my statement "there is no shortage of 'em." Please explain. AFAIK, there are piles of black bears in NA. Grizzlies, no; black bears, yes.
