My girlfriend has been wanting to chuck everything and do this for ages. I just sent her this link so she gets a better idea of the non-idyllic side. In the meantime, we read lots of recipes and fantasize. Mmmm...Cheese.

Cheese ... Feh. Goat meat is where it's at. Lean and flavorful. Yum. Or Cashmere. Now there's a good reason to raise goats.

(My family raised goats for seven years of my life. Certainly not idyllic, but they really are wonderful, headstrong, intelligent and charming animals. And yes, making cheese will turn you into an obsessive headcase *chuckle*.)

I think the same applies to any manufacturers of dairy products.

vegetarians and don't do drugs

Now, that's a rare combination!

Thanks for the link, onlyconnect. It reminded me of this story: Alpacas a dyed-in-the-wool success

".....They did their homework and understand the realm of cheese"

I wonder, was this some NYT editor's twisted sense of a joke - to assign a reporter with the name of "Burros" to write about goats?
