America Is is the weblog of a "freelance photojournalist traveling across the US on a mission to hit all 48 contiguous states." Some nice photos.

That's an awesome little blog. There some unexplainable difference between regular photos and a photojournalist's work. These are clearly good photos that I hope he publishes as a book eventually. posted by mathowie at 3:50 PM on June 23, 2004
Thanks, kirkaracha; I love stuff like this. And I was just standing at Old Faithful last Wednesday, taking pictures of the people waiting to take pictures of the geyser. I like the lead photo currently on his front page, and will be checking out more of his photos. (Plus, who knew you could be president of the National Sunflower Association?)
I've already hit all 48 continguous states at least five times each, but not more than 42 in any one trip. posted by lelilo at 4:29 PM on June 23, 2004

Interesting--that Connie story really is something. posted by amberglow at 6:08 PM on June 23, 2004
Loved his photos. Hated his writing -- typical amateurish self-centered blog style, whining because Old Faithful is what it is, not what he wants it to be.
My favorite: "I shot very poorly today -- sports photography still needs work", over the best picture in the bunch. (Scroll down to the girl.) posted by anewc2 at 8:32 AM on June 24, 2004
