This is a tiny sort of maybe self link, kinda - I directed The Sceptre of MacGuffin - one of the finalists.

In the space of 48 hours, more than 2000 people worked together to create more than 900 minutes worth of short film. I am still awestruck.

I managed to attend the finals, and i've gotta say the winner was well deserved. fantastic!
48Hrs for screenwriting / production / editing is a formidable effort for this piece. Sorry Sycophant, the Sceptre didnt do much for me

...or an alternative- 48 hours, a blank screen and a blinking question mark.
Next year: 8mm, razor blades and cellotape

48 hours? We do it in 24.

(Linked above is last year's entry. This year's is currently not online but made it into the finals.)

So does Vancouver. Apparently, one of the filmmakers writes, shoots, develops and edits on 16mm film - all in the 24 hour period. Pretty impressive.
