Iteristingly enough, there's a certain tradition of architects embarking on such pilgrimage's at the onset of their carreers. Of the top of my head, both Le Corbusier and Tadao Ando went on long rambles before being well known. In this particular case, the trip itself must be fascinanting. The sketches, IMO, not so much.

Sketchy but beautiful, monju! Makes me wish they were animated, they'd be like architectural Plymptoons. Falling Water is unmistakable, even in a small thumbnail, on the front page.

Sketchtravelblog. Seen a few of them around and in some ways better than phototravelblogs. It can be like reading a childrens book or cartoon of someones travels.

Wow! Great post. Beautiful sketches of some of the world's most stunning architecture. Even better, are the sketches of the less well known architecture. I wish the images were a little larger, but they are gorgeous nonetheless.

I thought they were a bit 'sketchy' as well to begin with, but when you view them as a collection and get into the style, I thought they were very nice indeed; it's hard to capture the feel of a place with just a few lines.

Thanks Monju. Nice trip down memory lane for me to some of those places; others are still on my list of places to see. Still others I need to add.
