Will John Kerry reach higher market share then Steve Jobs? I love Errol Morris' documentaries, but is an art house film director and Apple pitch man really the right person to craft political ads aimed at persuading undecided voters?

Perhaps you were unaware that Morris' determination, conviction and ability to present a persuasive argument resulted in the re-opening and exoneration of an innocent man in Texas? Also, your wording implies that the Democats have hired Morris as an official part of the Kerry campaign; they haven't. Morris is offering his services and talent to MoveOn.org.

the interrotron...it's awesome. Morris has done plenty of commercials before. Some of them are in A Brief History of Errol Morris. He's pretty talented in this area, too. And that's in addition to his great films, freeing an innocent man and such.

I'm not sure if you've seen any of his films, but Errol Morris is an amazing documentary filmmaker. He has an ability to present facts and opinions in a very tightly crafted, very persuasive way. I think he makes an excellent choice for MoveOn.org to get their message out. Although if the ads don't feature music by Philip Glass, I'll be sorely disappointed.

Errol has made many commercials, probably to pay the bills. Calling him an "art house film director" seems a bit belittling.

Regardless, Kerry is not able to tap into the Reality Distortion Field like Jobs does. Maybe he should start wearing a black turtleneck and blue jeans.
