Huh. I didn't even notice that Gorey one at first. And I was a little disappointed that one of the few SF illustrators I can actually name, Richard Powers, didn't quite live up to the abstract, almost psychedelic style I think of as his.

It'd be interesting to see a comparison like this with other books that have gone through so many reprintings--Shakespeare, maybe? Hemingway? Dickens?
