The atmosphere was rather chilly. Actually, I can't seem to get 'in.' To what Nordic deity do you have to sacrifice in order to enter the site? posted by moonbird at 2:43 PM on July 10, 2004
I've slept in it a few years ago, you get a diploma the next day, and served hot bluberry drink in the morning. advice: don't forget to visit the loo before going to bed, you don't want to wake up in need of the loo. posted by dabitch at 3:04 PM on July 10, 2004

I'd wondered of pop-ups, with ye old Google blocker sounding like a great goose gun peppering the enemy.
db, you've been there, I thought it perhaps a parody site at first. This place is for real? posted by bluedaniel at 3:30 PM on July 10, 2004
dabitch: Really? Not for me it doesn't.
Although, as I'm kind of a train wreck right now, I probably should shut up... Everything I say turns out to be wrong and stupid... One of these days...
It's very real, and well worth a visit. There's one in Canada somewhere too these days. Natti natti soundsofsuburbia. posted by dabitch at 4:11 PM on July 10, 2004
There's an ice hotel near Quebec City in season. Used to be in the park near the Chutes de Montmorency - I saw it a couple of winters ago, but they were charging for a look inside so none of us bothered to go in. It's still being built yearly a little further away from the city. The frozen waterfall's more interesting to look at and walk around than a building made of ice, but then I never tried sleeping in it. posted by zadcat at 9:10 PM on July 10, 2004
