Hungry? How about a 37'2" hotdog? Vienna Beef was proud to feature this record breaker at Taste of Chicago earlier this month. More info over at MeatNews. Can't get enough hot dog action? Chicago fancies itself the nonpareil in pizza and hotdogs -- a curious conceit, since neither are very edible (way, way, waaa-aay too overdone). Gimme a Nathan's any day o' the week. Ironically, Chicago doesn't get proper respect for its BBQ, which might easily be the best in the world.

People aren't allowed to eat it. What a waste of food. Seriously, people are starving and Vienna Beef makes a 37.2 foot hot dog that can't be consumed. What a waste. (Health codes be damned, at least feed it to the humane shelter)

37.2 feet? That's nothing. Let's talk about Campbellsport, WI, where they recently cooked (and ate!) a 48-foot bratwurst on a custom-made grill. Nice try, Chicago.

I saw Kobayashi's win on ESPN2 the other night, and yes, it was disgusting. Over 50-odd hot dogs, and he had to do some squiggle-squirm maneuver to stuff in the last few. I do not want to imagine the scene an hour later. Chicago (or at least her suburbs) can also boast of Sarkis for the Loretta. Also the only restaurant I've been to where nothing has a set price.
