[Homestar Runner] [Cool] New Strong Bad email

Whether you like or loathe the cartoons it has to be said that these guys are one of the few people to be making consistent money on the internet without resorting to ads or subscriptions.

And verily did the geekiest among them cream their pants with exuberant joy.

Reminds me of the music video for Moby's 'Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad'. Both videos feature funny, goofy looking cartoon characters yet both I find soothingly meloncolic.

Definitely Strong Sad does not listen to TMBG. Strong Sad is a Morrissey fan, definitely. Maybe Marzipan; but I'm guessing Pom Pom is the TMBG fan. Oh, maybe Homesar, but only TMBG club remixes played very, very fast.

Strong Bad listens to Dio, Strong Mad listens to the blender, Marzipan mostly listens to Joni Mitchell, Coach Z listens to Travis Tritt, Homestar listens to whatever is on the radio, Poopsmith likes The Stones, and the King of Town has an autographed Pat Boone album (the one with the ham on the cover).

The Cheat...well, The Cheat likes Johnny Cash and Velvet Underground.

I'm pretty sure Coach Z is more of a rap fan. He dressed up as Humpty for Halloween if I remember correctly.

I'm eagerly awaiting the publication of "The Cheat's Guide to Flash Animation"...that little guy is a freaking Flash master!

This video has my vote for "Best Use of a Buñuel reference using miniature Cheats instead of ants"

Coach Z listens to Travis Tritt
Like hell! You obviosuly haven't heard his solo album entitled "The Z Is All Up Ins", featuring the smash hit "Hip-Hop Dance" and "These Peoples Try To Fade Me".

Akuinnen: He's dressed as Flavor Flav, Humpty Hump, Kid and Kool Moe Dee.
posted by PenDevil at 8:53 AM on July 14, 2004

Ah, yah, he does dress that way, doesn't he? I was keying off of his voice. Good point. On Preview: And my friend does have that CD. I forgot about that.

I stand corrected.

fgj: there's a vote for that??

Happy to see their collaboration continues.

TMBG does not need to collaborate. TMBG stands alone. Even a brilliant video like this only detracts from the greatness of this new song which, like the rest of their work, towers in austere magnificence over an empty plain. The video is a distraction.

OK, help me out - the animation was supposed to be crap, yeah?
posted by Blue Stone at 10:49 AM on July 14, 2004

Yes, Blue, Homestar Runner does the best crap animation on the Web.

And I wish StrongBad would send ME an email; just as long as it doesn't have a .pif attachment.

Great video; an excellent jorb all around.

The color of infinity
Inside an empty glass
I'm squinting my eye
And turning off and on and on
and off the light

It's for this experimental film
Which nobody knows about and which
I'm still figuring out what's going to go
In my experimental film

All right, I pretty much loved this.

Blue Stone: It's co-directed by Strong Sad, who works on "film" it seems, and The Cheat, who does scibbly Flash with Cheat-accented voice acting. So it's 50% poorly-animated.
posted by abcde at 4:06 PM on July 14, 2004

Is it just me or was that a little too much like an experimental film?

Can anyone tell me at what bitrate the mp3s purchased from the TMBG online store are encoded?
posted by eustacescrubb at 8:56 PM on July 14, 2004

eustacescrubb, they're 256.

I bought The Spine + the EP a couple days ago and am quite pleased with my purchase. :)
