WOW. The high school me just peed his pants.

This is fantastic. It makes me want to reread the book just to visualize everything in this new light. Thanks kirkaracha!

For we who loved the book, the photos are wonderful....and poignant, given Chris Pirsig's death outside San Francisco's Zen Center in 1979.

In 1992, I drove the exact route Pirsig took -- from Minneapolis along Route 12 through South Dakota and into Miles City, Montana and Yellowstone. Simply amazing to read his descriptions and see what he saw. This is awesome -- another way to appreciate one of my favorite books. Thanks for the link.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is sure hard to navigate. I still can't find the chapter on sorting out transmission troubles on my Triumph Bonneville!

(I'all read your World Famous Weblog and quicklinky thing, and I missed this one. Less truncation with the linky titles, Monsieur Poulet!)

P.S. If y'all read my quicklinky thing, you'd have seen the Molvania song ten days ago... Etc.

Thanks, kirkaracha. Brilliant. That book blew my 21-year-old mind. (Perhaps not the most appropriate turn of phrase in the circumstances.)

Now I'm going to have to re-re-read the book. What a great find!

So great I posted it on my obscure, seldom-read, weblog ;)

The book meant a great deal to me back in the day; now that I have these amazing pictures, I'll have to go back to my battered, much-annotated paperback one more time. Thanks, kirkaracha!
