Is it a gargoyle? No, it is the heartwarming, sly, naughty long-tailed Macaque monkey of Bali, creature of myth and of the Sacred Forest. It may think it's a gargoyle, or perhaps it's only dreaming of Notre Dame

Those things are cute at first, but they get real old, real fast. I had a story published about Bali that covered those little jerks...have a look if you like.

I clicked on the "naughty" link. I haven't been this disappointed since "Naked Lunch".

Not to steal any thunder away from Shane, but chinese_fashion's article was very entertaining reading. I closed my eyes, and I could really imagine that I was touching the holy snake. Then I opened my eyes, realized I was at work, and took my hand out of my pants. </that's_right_i_went_there>

I ran into some anecdotes expressing... annoyance with the monkeys, chinese_fashion, but you know, it's Heartwarming Friday, so I speak no ill of Hanoman.

I'm glad that my sly, naughty attempt to integrate heart-warming aspects into metafilter has resulted in the creation of a meme that I will now take sole responsibility for.

Excellent work, Shane ol' chap.
