Capital of the Minimal is a new feature at the New Zealand Electronic Poetry Centre. It contains poetry, photography, and art work by 24 Dunedin writers, as well as some previously unreleased recordings by Flying Nun legends The Clean, The Verlaines, and The Chills (as well as some considerably more obscure stuff). 'Observe the young and tender frond 'of this punga: shaped and curved 'like the scroll of a fiddle: fit instrument 'to play archaic tunes.' 'I see 'the shape of a coiled spring.' Not exactly a comprehensive selection - Mason, Curnow, Baxter and Tuwhare all missing - but I'm glad Fairburn's there. Quite a find, Sonny Jim. Well done.

Not exactly a comprehensive selection - Mason, Curnow, Baxter and Tuwhare all missing - but I'm glad Fairburn's there. Yeah, I love Fairburn's stuff too. Granted, there's an idiosyncratic mix on there -- but I think that's deliberate. They're looking to foreground the kind of poets who get neglected in mainstream anthologies -- post-'60s 'experimentalists', Pasifika writers and the like. Anyway, thanks for commenting, people, and BTW: sgt.serenity, in case you didn't find it -- Martin Phillipps and the Chills.
