RadioHead. 2+2+rocket cam = 5. This is strictly an experiment, not an official music video.

I fail to make the connection despite the second part of the song clearly starting at the liftoff of the rocket. I guess it seems more clever to others.

I'm certain this has been posted before - perhaps more than once - but it's still cool.

For those with a short attention span (me) skip to the middle when the damned thing finally takes off.

As a kid I once tried to create a home-made rocket using a zinc dust and sulphur fuel mixture. My experiment glowed white for a moment and then turned in to several hundred tiny projectiles and a large amount of fire. Right then and there I decided that rockets were cool.

wow. V. cool. I've seen tons of kiteCam vids, but never a rocket taking off. Thanks, srboisvert.

The timing of the video is nice and the idea is neat, but that typography is terrible. It would be much, much better without it.

ScottUltra: That's actually one of Radiohead's Hail to the Thief-era fonts.

(here's the backup on their site of the HTTT site at the time, which happens to quote some lyrics from 2+2=5 on the front page)

And yes, Radiohead's web design is migraine-inducingly bad (contrast their album art, which is gorgeous)

It never ceases to amaze me how most mefites can look at something very cool, very novel, and bit by bit, critique the thing into a dark hole.

the similarity to music critics comes to my mind. ...spewing critical factoids about all the details, and ignoring the novelty of the thing as a whole.

Cartman: "I thought the rocket things was cool. scew you guys."

Haha. I agree, Rocket = cool.

I thought the video was fantastic, and it did have that sort of sureal-radiohead feeling while the rocket was being carried around and setup.

I just wish they had two cameras, one pointing up, and th eother down. The takeoff was really cool, especialy when set to the change in music. I suppose your enjoyment of radiohead's music might have a big effect on your enjoyment of the video.

That rocket is very cool. Makes me want to build one of my own.

I thought both sites were well worth the visit. I wasn't expecting much from amateur web music videos, the genre having been bludgeoned to death by flash animations of kitties. I think the text could have been a bit more fully scrolling, but I didn't find it awful. The use of the rocket footage was pretty well edited for an amateur job and the LOS added a nice arty feel -- wish somebody could do a job with that for reals, you know?

I wanted the camera more under the canopy for the flight down. Also, for a lipstick camera that I could attach to strange things and walk around with.

i'm with ScottUltra. cool video, crap type. i can't believe it's the actual type from hail to the thief ...

if it wasn't for the words, i could have believed it was actually a Radiohead video (ok, the timing would have been suspiciously amateur ...) very good.
