the law + sex = strange bedfellows

How does same sex marriage differ from heterosexual marriage? It may really be until death do us part. or Awkward things happen when legislative debate trails judicial necessity.

It's distractingly weird that, while the two women in the case are identified only by their initials (MM and JH), their respective lawyers have the same initials (Martha McCarthy and Julie Hannaford).

This is clearly a case where marriage for the sake of making a statement turns into a Britney Spears thingie...and that is why I favor marriage to one's pet...no way there will be a divorce.

They should get an anullment (unless that's only opposite-sex too), but clearly, divorce laws have got to change along with marriage laws. No one thought of it?

amberglow. It seems that legal annulment in most jurisdictions requires fraud on the part of one of the parties to the marriage.
