That's no moon....

With as many wonders we find in our own solar system, it boggles me to ponder how many more exist outside of it, knowing how incomprehensibly large the universe is. Thanks for the link, whoever you are. ;-) posted by WolfDaddy at 5:24 PM on July 27, 2004

it's so nice to be reminded of the little things (childhood movies) that bring people through years of schooling just so that some day you can repay the favor by making a smartass reference that few people will get. That said, i'm so totally jealous and laughing my ass off for the person who managed to place that subtitle....brilliant.

bingo: in the novel of _2001_, the monolith was on Iapetus, not in orbit around Jupiter. IIRC, it was smack in the middle of the white side, like a weensy pupil in a whacking great eye.
Or maybe it was just Iapetus itself. Can't recall. posted by ROU_Xenophobe at 8:47 PM on July 27, 2004

The current residents would pull your pants down and spank you with moon rocks. Sure, they'd teach you how to make a shiv out of a bedpost, but then you'd smoke and pass out in the REALLY hot sun. Stay on earth. posted by WolfDaddy at 6:11 AM on July 28, 2004
