I would just like to say, after reading that, how grateful (not greatful) I am that this board has members that subscribe to a minimum standard of proofreading their posts and don't make themselves look like absolute morons by failing to spell things correctly and using the wrong homophone.

Grumblebee! Why don't you post very much anymore? I am surprised by how confident people are in those comments. Everyone is making such absolute statements. I had heard of the Three Men and a Baby legend, but not his one. Thanks for passing it along.

y'know, thirteen, you don't have to post twice to make up for grumblebee's absence.

*duck*

obOnTopic: When Oz was rereleased in theatres a few years back, I watched for the scene, and it didn't look like a crane or a hanging person. It looked like a sandbag.

kidsplateusa, there IS a Dark Side discussion somewhere on that site.

Thirteen, thanks for asking about my infrequent posts.

I quit my frequent posting because I got tired of all the negativity on this site--all the flames, etc. Nothing against MeFi: I still check it several times a day, and it regularly leads me to great sites. And, obviously, I even post now and again. But I have found other places online where the level of discussion is as intelligent as it is here, minus the flame wars. Which is more to my taste.

I'll leave further discussion of this point to private emails (if anyone wants) or to MetaTalk.

Cheers!

Surprisingly they don't have the other great(?) legend about Dark Side of the Moon syncing with the movie.

i've watched the movie with DSM playing, and for the length of the cd it matches pretty well...Money comes on right as the movie turns to color (there are other examples that i cannot remember).

Proof that the Oz story is nonsense, including a clip of the scene that makes you wonder where the hell anyone got this idea from. The same site also refutes the Three Men and a Baby 'ghost' story, with convincing screen grabs.

But hey, people will believe what they want to believe.

I was probed by aliens for example.

Man, I love snopes.com. Every time I'm reminded of it's existence, I end up wasting an afternoon reading through it. It's kind of like when I remember 'bout The Straight Dope and catch up on the articles I've missed over the past couple of months.

For some reason the two usually coincide. :-)

It was uncomfortable at first, but as eventually we developed an increasing mutual respect and their probings began to achieve a certain tenderness.

The control chip in the base of my skull itches a bit though.
