There are some stupendous pictures here. But can any of you Metafilter glider pilots (or Slovenian[?] readers) explain what Lenarcic is wearing in this shot?

I just noticed the little Union Jack icon and got my English on, but I didn't see any further explanation of that thing. I presume that it's to help him breathe at six thousand meters. But what is it, exactly?

Another geek question. How is this "ultralite" different then an airplane? I am familiar with the older hang-glider style ultralite kits and their FAA altitude restrictions. Is this the same only enclosed?
