First an award for outstanding journalism and now President Clinton to appear on the show. Is there no end to the respectable rise of the Daily Show?

Relatively speaking, the rest of the media is just going to continue to get worse.

Please do not adjust your thread. The noise you are hearing is normal. For better reception, please tune to last week's Daily Show thread, which I'm too lazy to link to.

I fear the inevitable Daily Show rip-offs.

There are a million and one Onion rip-offs online, but it's pretty easy to see why none have gained the prominence that the Onion has: none of them are funny.

Of course, maybe that's what Dennis Miller, Bill Maher and every other comedian-turned-political-show-host does: a really bad imitation of The Daily Show. Of course, like the onion, none of his current competitors get the formula right. It's always too heavy handed or completely misguided.
