Hello, MUDDA. "The relationship of artist to the business has most often been one of contract and servitude. We believe the way forward must be a partnership in which the artist can take a much bigger role in how their creations are sold, but also have the chance to stand at the front of the queue when payments are made instead of the traditional position of being paid long after everyone else." - Peter Gabriel

Of course, if this service is Windows/IE only like PG's other download service, that'd be very, very uncool.

There are only 4 links on the entire site, and none of them demanded I use Internet Explorer instead of Mozilla, fff. Which link are you referring to?

And it's not a "service" it's a union calling for greater rights for musicians.

I imagine everything's up for grabs as regards the means and tools of distribution. And there's no suggestion there should be only one way of doing things.

This is about creating a movement, not a distribution platform.

"... downloading artists"

I thought it was the *listener* who did the downloading.

What is the artist downloading?

Nice idea (though harldy novel), but stupid acronym.

Yeah, dumb acronym. And the idea isn't novel, but to have someone like Peter Gabriel fronting the organization gives the idea some clout it would otherwise not have.

I clicked the "Virgin" link. It borked. I thought it was going to be a link from the Gabriel-approved site to a MUDDA-approved site.

Well, yah, I suppose.

First click that held promise of functionality instead of verbiage.
